Is there anything more classic than a little black dress? Every girl needs that staple, fit-like-a-glove piece in her wardrobe. I have spent years looking for an LBD that flatters my body perfectly, and I finally found one! I scored this gorgeous dress by French Connection at a thrift shop and I was so impressed when I first tried it on. I am a girl with a pretty straight body shape, and this dress showed off curves I didn't know I had! As they say, it fits like a glove and I've been waiting for the perfect moment to show it off.
Last weekend, I attended College Fashion Week and finally took my LBD off the hanger. Since I wasn't sure how people were dressing for this event, I paired it with simple strappy heels, a leather jacket and a choker. The final look ended up being sexy, sophisticated and not too overdone. But I always say, it is better to be overdressed than underdressed! I felt confident and comfortable all night and was able to immerse myself in the show.
As I mentioned in my previous blog post, College Fashion Week featured looks from awesome up-and-coming designers, My Social Canvas, Foray, Ali & Ariel, Frill Clothing and Bow & Drape. I enjoyed a night of networking with other bloggers and fashion-lovers in Boston, and discovered some great new designers! One of the best perks of this event was the generous goodie bag they gave me! I was given a Fitbit, a gorgeous Essie nail polish, a sultry smelling Lacoste perfume, an adorable Rebecca Minkoff bag and a coupon for a free blowout session at Drybar! A big thank you to Her Campus Media and their sponsors for having me at such an awesome event. The sponsors included Rebecca Minkoff, Vince Camuto, Drybar, Stylewatch, Fitbit, Bertha Watches and Perfumania.
Rebecca Minkoff, gifted this stunning, authentic leather makeup bag and I know I will be getting a lot of use of out it. It is very nice quality leather and craftsmanship and it will be perfect for weekend trips! The nail polish I received is from Essie and they make my absolute favorite formula. The color is called 'Playing Koi' and it is the perfect fall color. It is seriously to color of red the leaves turn in the fall! A gorgeous burnt red.
Next, Perfumania was kind enough to provide an amazing smelling perfume by Lacoste, called Eau de Lacoste, L.12.12 Pour Elle Sparkling. It smells fruity and spicy all at once, honestly a perfect sweet Autumn scent. Fitbit also provided a Fitbit Flex 2 which I am so excited to have! I have always wanted to try a Fitbit and I have enjoyed using it that last few days. It definitely keeps me more aware of my movement and encourages me to get up and walk a little more each day. Lastly, I received a free blowout session coupon for Drybar which I haven't used yet but I will absolutely document the results on my Instagram when I do!
