Boston has never had a huge fashion scene, but in my time here I have surely discovered the niche of amazing people who are involved in the industry and love fashion! During "Fashion Month", Boston does its part to get involved by having its own version of Fashion Week. This year it runs from September 23rd through the 30th. There are plenty of amazing fashion events happening during the week that you should check out. But, in my opinion, the highlight of the week is going to be College Fashion Week.
College Fashion Week, hosted by Her Campus always provides an amazing show for collegiate fashion-lovers to enjoy. This year it is held from 6-9PM at Space 57 at The Revere Hotel on Saturday, September 24th. Her Campus Media has partnered with Style Watch to run this awesome event and is sponsored by so many amazing companies! They include global lifestyle brand Rebecca Minkoff, Vince Camuto who creates versatile handbags, shoes and apparel, Bertha Watches which are beautifully crafted and Perfumania, America's largest perfume retailer. Additionally sponsored by Hanes Hosiery, Maidenform Hosiery and Maidenform Shapewear. These sponsors make amazing products, which I purchase myself and guests will have the opportunity to meet various partners at the event!
For the 5th Annual College Fashion Week, they will be showcasing designs from amazing up-and-coming fashion entrepreneurs and designers. The confirmed designers are My Social Canvas, Foray, Ali & Ariel, Frill Clothing and Bow & Drape. In the 3 hour event, there will be 4 fashion shows with 10 looks each. The trends/scenes featured will be RUSH which will include items from Ali & Ariel and Frill Clothing. This is followed by FESTIVAL, which will feature Foray Collective, then STUDY CHIC which will show pieces from My Social Canvas. And finally, GIRL'S NIGHT OUT will feature Boy & Drape. In between the shows, guests can mingle, network and interact with the various partners in the sponsor activation lounge. This is a great opportunity to get to know the fashion community in Boston! Additionally, there will be awesome goodie bags full of items from many sponsors such as Drybar, which was named one of the top "100 Brilliant Ideas of 2010" by Entrepreneur Magazine, Essie (my favorite nail polish company!), FitBit, which helps people lead healthier, more active lives, KIND, and European Wax Center.
This is going to be such a fun event and if you are interested you can buy tickets here for only $20! Try and find me if you go, I would love to meet everyone!
