Although I truly enjoy taking my time getting glammed up, I don't always have the time or energy to do so. Over the years, I have learned to perfect my lazy day hair and makeup and I'm so excited to share my tricks with you all!
My first tip is to use a hair straightener and your holy grail hair products to add some waves to your hair. I don't have time to sit and wait 10 seconds per section for a curling iron to curl every strand of my hair, so I have learned how to add soft waves with my Nume straightener and I do this almost everyday. I really suggest this method! You just place about an inch of hair in the straightener and twist it outward, pulling down on the strand as you go. It leaves you with a great wave that looks so effortless and pretty! Here are some picture of me with this style for reference:
My favorite products to enhance the curls and lift my hair include the following:
- Drybar Triple Sec spray, which is a 3-in-1 dry shampoo, volumizer and texturizing spray. Its one of my favorites and is perfect even for days when you don't get to wash your hair.
- Herbal Essences Let It Loose Hairspray. I use this all over my hair, and sort of scrunch the curls up to help them keep their shape. It smells great and lasts all day!
- Garnier Fructis Flexible Control Hairspray. I don't like when hairsprays feel really stiff and sticky in your hair, so I love this one because it stays flexible but keeps your style in place all day
Another trick of mine is to skimp out on the non-essential makeup. If I don't have time to do a full face I usually apply a really high quality moisturizer, like the Marcelle New-Age LumiPOWER 3 in 1 moisturizer, followed by a hydrating primer - I love HangoverRx by Too Faced - and topped off with concealer only where I need it. I usually apply concealer on blemishes and over my dark circles. I finish everything off with mascara and maybe a fun lipstick if I'm feeling myself.
On days where I have a little extra time, I'll pick up my favorite eyeshadow palette, Morphe 35O, because I know it complements me well, and I'll apply a single shade buffed out over my lids. This helps make you look pulled together but only takes a minute! Lastly, I always make sure to apply scented lotion or perfume before I leave the house so I feel fresh and put together!
What are your lazy day tips?
