I briefly fled from Manhattan on Sunday and spent my day in Croton with my lovely friend Ava. We were blessed with a beautiful sunny day and spent our time eating fatty food and wandering around the cute small town. There was a street fair set up throughout the town so we enjoyed exploring, with ice cream cones of course. We ventured to a gorgeous park, ate lunch by the river, and I got to meet some of her hilarious (like, really hilarious) friends. Ava is one of those people who knows everybody and everybody knows her, so I was lucky enough to meet some friendly small-town folk as well, which was refreshing and made me miss my small town at home in the best kind of way.
Truly, days like these are what I live for. It felt so good to blow the Manhattan air away, throw my hair in a bun and lounge in some of my comfiest clothing. Sometimes you just need to escape the crazy, learn to be yourself, and drive around listening to loud music with a good friend.
I hope you had a lovely weekend and spent time with people who love you. xx Sarah
